Blätter
Ronja Eick, Pihla Jaala, Fanni Schack
“Blätter” is a mobile dance performance for children aged three to six. In their first joint dance project, dancers and dance educators Ronja Eick, Pihla Jaala and Fanni Schack explore the poetic world of autumn leaves: falling, rolling, catching, and transforming. Above and below, gentle and chaotic.
The performance is developed in collaboration with kindergartens around Frankfurt and is presented directly on site. After each performance, children are invited to become active themselves and to engage playfully with the materials through movement.
Dance and choreography: Ronja Eick, Pihla Jaala, Fanni Schack

Jury statement
The jury was convinced by “Blätter” for its meaningful thematic concept, its experiential approach tailored to young children, and the collective’s first collaborative work: dancers and dance educators alongside a visual and sound artist (Fanni Schack, Pihla Jaala, Ronja Eick, Nicolas Gebbe). Hailing from Hungary, Finland, and Germany, they met during their Master’s program in Contemporary Dance Pedagogy (MACoDe) in Frankfurt.
Now, they combine their artistic and pedagogical skills. Well-acquainted with their target audience, they bring their easily transportable piece on the theme of autumn – featuring movement elements like falling, rolling, catching, transforming, and listening – to kindergartens in areas outside culturally well-served cities or neighborhoods. Each performance culminates in a hands-on play, sensory, and exploration workshop for the children.
